Vancouver fishing report april 14 2013

Another week in the Vancouver fishing charter scene with some good results. It seems to be shaping up like it usually does mid April in Vancouver’s fishing charter scene.

Small Spring to start the Day

Small Spring to start the Day

The weather and water conditions in the last week have been less than ideal but the people that braved the weather have had good results. There still are some nice fish getting caught on the West van shoreline on the flood tide and a few undersized mixed in. The guys fishing over near Naniamo have started to produce some nice Springs that usually happen at this time of year with the biggest I’ve heard of being in the mid 20’s. Those fish tend to keep moving down and it won’t be long before Thrasher rock or the Grande heats up if its not already. Howe sound is producing some very nice fish and the main spot that’s doing well is Grace islands but other great bets are Tunstal, 3rd marker or Hutt island. The place that we’ve all been waiting for at this time of year to heat up is the South end of Bowen island

and in the last few days it has. Quite a few boats are getting into Springs the last few days with one boat keeping 4 legal and ranging in size from 12 to the low 20’s.  We should see some good reports in the next few days as most people have now got the itch to get out there and try there luck.  The crabbing and prawning remain good and if its like past years the South end of Bowen should just keep getting better. Its a great time of year to get out for a Spring charter and fish the Strait of Georgia off the South end of Bowen island. Call for any questions and I will be more than happy to help you out any way I can.

Until next time good luck.
