Vancouver fishing report March 21st 2013

Another interesting week or so on the Vancouver fishing charter scene. The weather wasn’t the greatest this past week with rain, the high winds and rough seas. With those conditions not to many people wet a line, but with the nice weather arriving next week, I’m sure a bunch of people will take fishing trips over spring break.

In English bay this week there were a few fish caught on thew few fishing trips that took place. Mainly undersize with a couple legal spring salmon were caught, but again very few anglers were out. Howe sound produced similar results with people fishing Tunstal, 3rd marker and Grace being the most productive, with a few fish caught and a few undersize. I have not heard of any reports out of The Gulf Islands all week, but if the weather stays sunny and winds calm, there should be a lot of people taking trips to the Gulf Islands looking to catch some salmon. Most fish have been getting caught on the Irish cream, or anchovy behind a Gibbs highliner flasher.

The crabbing and prawning have remained very good, I only got out to check those a couple times last week, but they were still full. The phones have started to get busy with people inquiring about fishing charters for the South end of Bowen island fishery, that’s coming in the next couple weeks. Feel free to email or call to ask questions about our next fishery or about any of our great salmon runs that will be coming back this year. Until next time good luck.
