Hi there, what a great weekend on the water. Saturday was really to rough for anybody to fish off the South end of Bowen island, so the few people that did fish hid where it was calm and there wasn’t much going on except enjoying the sun. Sunday was a different story there was a bunch of the Vancouver fishing charter boats out and most boats had at least one legal and the top boat i know had 3 legal Spring salmon. This is the time of year that the vancouver salmon fishing starts to heat up. In the last week the Gulf islands and off Nanimo have produced with a few boats limiting out on Springs which is a great sign for us. Most fish were caught on spoons and down 140ft – 180ft. Today it started to heat up in Vancouver in the Bell buoy area. Most fish were caught between 70 – 100ft a few on spoons but most were caught on bait. With that news a lot more people will be fishing including myself and we should really get a good idea in the next week on how many fish are out there.
